    The Waving Tree

The Search for the Family Tree We returned to the Christmas tree farm we had used two years prior to tag our tree. My children now, men according to age reminded me of the cell phone debacle back then. At some point during our traipsing and traversing, my cell phone fell from my pocket and was lost in a sea of pine needles and baby trees. The tree farm was full of acres of beautiful trees waiting to be chosen. For those of you who feel the barbarism of cutting down a tree in its prime for a few weeks of decoration and celebration, I am sorry we do not…

Acknowledge and Embrace the New Year

Ready About for 2025!  Cast the Lines and Let’s Go! Bon Voyage to 2024! The last month of the year is filled with excitement, parties, shopping, food, celebrations, gifts and caroling. While I embrace all these festivities, I try to sneak in a little time of reflection on the past year. In practicing my Uncapsize Perspective, the twelfth motion asks the reader to navigate their path forward to a safe harbor using navigational beacons and the slogan, “red-right-return” To stay in the channel or on the path home. NOVEMBER NANOWRIMO and DIAS DE LOS MEUERTOS

Thoughts on deck today…for the month of November Here are a bunch of letters put together to form separately an acronym and a phrase. One stands for a movement (NANOWRIMO) the other a holiday to remember those we have lost (DIAS DE LOS MUERTOS) What do they have in common other than letters? Nothing yet. I have always loved the excitement of NANOWRIMO which stands for National November Writing Month or something close to it. It is scary to BLAHG

IT IS HALLOWEEN and I HAVE a SCARY FEAR OF PUBLISHING THIS BLAHG…or is it just False Expectations Appearing Real?   I have learned a few things about myself and my writing process in the last few weeks. Here are three things:   One, I do not have a set schedule for writing for better or for worse. It is 5:30pm right now.   Two, I am terrified of publishing a blog for all to see. Calling is a Blahg makes it more fun…boat log and happy gratitude’s, BLAHG!   Three, I do not like to edit my work on the screen.   So back to reason number one, I…

    I Proposed!

Yesterday I took a leap of faith and I proposed! To be clear, I sent a book proposal to Hay House. It only took me six months to get it to good enough. Actually, it took me over two years of trying to get it together. I am not sure it is even together, but I had to send it somewhere. Deadlines are good for that. In the big scheme of my Uncapsize Prompt. This was prompt number twelve, return. I had to come back to the harbor and find a place of safety and then hit send. Which is what I did. Then I ate pizza, full gluten pizza.…
